Author Guidelines
Use these requirements alongside the journal aims and scope, section descriptions and publishing policies when preparing a manuscript.
1. Confirm journal and section fit
Read the complete aims and scope and select the academic section that best reflects the manuscript’s main contribution. A keyword match alone is not enough; the research question, methods and conclusions must fit the journal’s subject boundaries.
2. Prepare the manuscript
- Use clear academic language, consistent formatting and an editable manuscript file.
- Include a concise title, abstract, keywords and section-appropriate headings.
- Number tables and figures consecutively; cite every item in the text and supply readable captions.
- Define abbreviations, use units consistently and identify statistical or computational methods.
- Provide complete references in the journal’s required style and check every citation against the source record.
- Describe supplementary files and datasets clearly and ensure that all files open correctly.
3. Preserve double-anonymous review
The stated review model is Double-anonymous peer review; normally at least two independent reviewers. If the journal uses double-anonymous review, keep author names, affiliations, acknowledgements and other direct identifiers on a separate title page or in designated submission fields. Remove identifying information from the review manuscript and check file properties before upload. Cite prior work normally without adding identifying notes.
4. Include required declarations
- Author contributions and confirmation that all authors approve the submitted version.
- Funding sources and grant identifiers, or a clear statement that no external funding was received.
- Conflicts of interest, including a statement when none are declared.
- Ethics approval, consent and trial registration where applicable.
- Data and materials availability, including justified access restrictions.
- Permissions for third-party figures, tables, scales, instruments or other protected material.
- Disclosure of material use of generative AI in research or manuscript preparation, following publisher policy.
5. Article types
Available manuscript categories are listed below. Choose the closest type and make sure its length, structure and evidence match the contribution.
6. Editorial and publication stages
After submissions open, manuscripts are expected to pass an initial completeness and scope check, editorial assignment, external review where appropriate, revision and decision, then production and author proof. A manuscript should not be submitted simultaneously to another journal. Editors may request source data or additional documentation when needed to assess the work.
Open access, fees and rights
The journal’s stated access model is Open Access, and its current fee statement is No APC. The copyright and reuse license applicable to any article will be identified in its publication record; authors should review those terms before publication. Third-party material remains subject to its own permissions and license.
